From there, he transitioned into producing news promos, where he developed a keen eye for composition and journalism. His expertise eventually led him to producing entertainment promos for WSOC-TV 9 and TV 64, crafting promotional content for both daytime and nighttime shows.
This hands-on experience in television not only honed his technical skills but also deepened his understanding of storytelling, journalism, and audience engagement —foundational elements that now shape his work in filmmaking and digital media.

"Marked for Trade" is a 2019 crime thriller that marked Tim Williams' debut as a feature-length filmmaker. Self-funded and shot in Charlotte, North Carolina, the film centers on a flamboyant lawyer with a mysterious past who becomes deeply involved in investigating a young woman's untimely death.
Upon its release, "Marked for Trade" received mixed reviews. Some critics acknowledged the film's potential and the ambition behind its creation, while others pointed out areas where the production fell short. For instance, Film Threat noted that despite the film's low-budget constraints, it should be celebrated for its mere existence, emphasizing that lack of funds shouldn't deter storytelling.
A Rotten Tomatoes critic, Alan Ng, commented that Marked for Trade "feels unfinished and like any good song, there has to be an ending or a way to release the tension," giving it a score of 4 out of 10.
